The consumption of textiles and household goods is a significant contributor to global greenhouse gas emissions. However, citizens across Canada are igniting change by supporting innovative community-based initiatives such as free markets, clothing swaps, and yard sales. The Community Toolkit provides community leaders with the knowledge and resources needed to establish and expand successful textile reuse initiatives, thus reducing landfill waste and greenhouse gas emissions, building vibrant communities through collaborative action, and supporting charities and social causes.
“The Community Toolkit represents our commitment to supporting grassroots efforts in promoting sustainability and community engagement,” said NACTR President, Tonny Colyn. “We believe that by empowering communities to take action, we can collectively create a brighter, more sustainable future for all.”
