Sector Opportunity: National Diabetes Trust Seeks President & Chief Executive Officer

The National Association for Charitable Textile Recycling (NACTR) is pleased to share a significant executive leadership opportunity within our membership base and the broader Canadian textile diversion sector.

Boyden Executive Search is currently seeking a visionary, strategic, and operationally grounded leader to step into the role of President & Chief Executive Officer at the National Diabetes Trust (NDT).

About the Opportunity

The National Diabetes Trust is at a defining moment in its evolution. As one of Canada’s largest charitable clothing and household goods collection organizations, NDT plays a critical dual role: driving sustainable funding for Diabetes Canada while delivering a massive environmental impact through large-scale textile diversion.

With a national footprint, a team of over 400 employees, and more than 100 million pounds of goods diverted from landfills annually, NDT is poised for a major chapter of transformation and growth.

The Role

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the President & CEO will take on the overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational performance of NDT. Key responsibilities include:

  • Guiding NDT through a pivotal period of business model evolution.
  • Strengthening and diversifying revenue streams.
  • Enhancing commercial discipline across a complex national logistics platform.
  • Balancing mission and margin to ensure long-term sustainability and funding impact.

Ideal Candidate Profile

This position is well-suited for a seasoned executive with a proven track record of leading complex, multi-site organizations through significant growth and change. The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Strong commercial and financial acumen.
  • Experience driving operational performance in logistics, supply chain, or intensive operational environments.
  • A talent for navigating stakeholder-rich environments and building trusted relationships with Boards and partners.
  • The ability to inspire and lead geographically dispersed, high-performing teams.

How to Apply

This is a rare opportunity to lead a nationally recognized, mission-driven organization at a major inflection point.

  • Location: Toronto, ON
  • Application Deadline: Friday, June 5, 2026
  • Submission Link: Interested candidates can submit a resume and cover letter directly via Boyden’s Application Portal.

For further information or to discuss the role in strict confidence, please contact Jonathan Finless at Boyden: (please state the title of the position in the subject line of your email).

The National Diabetes Trust is an equal opportunity employer.
