Welcoming Mortimer Capriles to the NACTR Board

NACTR is proud to welcome Mortimer Capriles as a new member of our Board.

Mortimer brings extensive experience in sustainability, innovation, and circular economy leadership. He currently serves as Director of Sustainability and Innovation at Goodwill Industries of Alberta, where he leads initiatives that divert millions of items from landfill each year while creating meaningful training and employment opportunities for individuals facing barriers to work.

Prior to this role, Mortimer led regional sustainability programs at Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, overseeing environmental initiatives across multiple resort properties in Western Canada.

With an Executive MBA, a Bachelor’s degree in Geography, a Diploma in Hospitality Management, and multiple postgraduate certifications in sustainability and leadership, Mortimer combines strong academic foundations with hands-on industry experience.

A passionate advocate for waste reduction and second-hand shopping, Mortimer has dedicated much of his career to community education and environmental stewardship. He has previously volunteered with the Alberta Emerald Foundation and currently serves as a Board Member of the Recycling Council of Alberta.

As a strong proponent of the circular economy, Mortimer champions innovative, practical solutions that support a more resource-efficient and sustainable future. His expertise and values strongly align with NACTR’s mission, and we are delighted to have him join our Board.

Welcome to the team, Mortimer!
