NACTR is happy to welcome Jonathan Cocker as a new member to our Advisory Board. We are delighted to have him with us on our team. Jonathans experience as a Partner at BLG Canada’s Law Firm and vision towards a better sustainable future will help us on our mission.
Don’t know Jonathan? Here is a quick recap:
Jonathan is an Environmental Markets practitioner, focusing upon the intersection of environmental attributes, bio-economy and energy transition issues across Canada and internationally. He leads the firm’s Alternative Fuels national initiative, promoting the growth of lower-carbon liquid, gaseous and solid fuels, including as they develop and are regulated under provincial and national clean fuel programs, as well as related climate change related considerations.
He was counsel to Canada’s first zero emissions municipal solid waste-to-energy project more than a decade ago and has been active in domestic and international greenhouse gas and carbon credit regimes, including the United Nation’s Clean Development Mechanism. Jonathan also spearheads BLG’s “Green Economy” client program, promoting energy transition, resource recovery and related environmental quality practices across a range of industrial and infrastructure sectors.
As the first Sustainability Officer of the International Bar Association, Jonathan also leads the hydrogen initiative of the Section on Energy, Environment, Natural Resources and Infrastructure Law of the IBA. Further, Jonathan co-chairs the Policy and Financing Workstream of the World Business Council Sustainable Development on its Circular Plastics & Packaging Program.
Welcome Jonathan!
